My niece is studying VCE biology this year, she discovered Douchy's Biology Podcasts. and has found them invaluble. He is a VCE Biology teacher, of some fame, from Shepparton and has the knack of presenting complex topics in a simple and interesting way. Another helpful podcast for VCE students is the Wheelers Centre Texts in the City series, many of the book studied by students will be covered over the year. Students who live in Melbourne can attend the events but for country students these podcasts (I think they might be vodcasts as they include video) are really useful. One book my niece is studying is Geraldine Brooks' 17th century plague drama, Year of wonders
